Houdini died on October 31, 1926. He is probably not as famous now as he was back then. As a magician and illusionist, some of the people he might have influenced were David Copperfield and Criss Angel. Angel named one of his shows, Criss Angel Believe, after Houdini. Angel saw Houdini as his idol, and Copperfield collects some of Houdini's prized pieces after they were auctioned off in 2004. After Houdini's death, most of his props and effects went to his brother, Theodore Hardeen, who later sold them to Sidney H. Radner, another magician. Much of this collection could be seen at the Houdini Museum in Appleton.
